You should bring light and breathable clothing due to the hot and humid climate. It is also important to bring long-sleeved clothing and long pants to protect from insects, as well as a good pair of hiking boots for jungle treks. Don’t forget a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
Although the jungle can be a dangerous place, most tours in Iquitos are organized by experience operators who guarantee the safety of travelers. Follow the guides’ instructions, stay with the group and avoid swimming in unauthorized areas.
